Acceptance
By creating a Vocatua account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Vocatua.
Who can use Vocatua
You must be at least 13 years old to use Vocatua, in line with Portugal's digital consent age under Lei 58/2019.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Let us know at hello@vocatua.com if you think your account has been compromised.
The service
Vocatua is a European Portuguese learning app. On the free plan, you can generate lessons on topics of your choosing, flag vocabulary while reading, and review it later.
Lesson text, translations, and audio are generated using AI (Google Gemini and Google Cloud Text-to-Speech). AI-generated content is reviewed for basic quality but may occasionally be inaccurate. Don't treat it as an authoritative source — use your own judgment, especially for anything beyond casual learning.
We may change, limit, or discontinue features at our discretion, including introducing paid tiers in the future. We'll do our best to give notice of material changes.
Acceptable use
Don't use Vocatua to generate or share illegal, abusive, or harmful content, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, or use it in a way that places excessive load on our systems (e.g. automated scraping).
Your content, and lessons generated from it
You keep ownership of the topics and words you submit. You grant us the right to process them as needed to generate and store your lessons and vocabulary.
Lessons are generated by AI based on the topic you provide. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide right to reuse the generated lesson text — not your account, identity, or any information that would identify you — in Vocatua's shared public Library, so other learners can read it too. We review lessons before publishing them this way and won't publish anything that reads as personal to you. If you'd rather a specific lesson never be reused this way, contact hello@vocatua.com and we'll exclude it.
Ending your account
You can ask us to delete your account at any time by contacting hello@vocatua.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Disclaimers
Vocatua is provided “as is.” We don't guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content or uninterrupted availability of the service. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of Vocatua.
Changes to these Terms
We'll notify you in the app if we make material changes before they take effect.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by Portuguese law.
